Welcome to another Perfectly Pl@nted podcast. This week we want to share part I of a two part conversation on The OMD Plan by Suzy Amis Cameron.
This book caught our attention because it has a very simple message: we can make small changes to live healthier lives and heal our planet. During this conversation we focus on how swapping One Meal a Day (OMD) to a plant-based meal can have positive impacts on your health. Some of you are probably laughing and thinking that this is more internet pseudoscience. We encourage you to pick read (or listen to) The OMD Plan if you have not already done so. In the forward, Dr. Dean Ornish provides a brief summary of his observations from over forty years of research and clinical care and supports the premise that starting with one meal a day can help you move in a direction that will be good for your health and the planet. It can’t hurt to try and we want to help support you. We are encouraging our viewers/ listeners to take on the OMD challenge. For the next 2 weeks, we encourage you to replace ONE meal to be as whole food plant based as possible (e.g., breakfast of oatmeal and blueberries!!). Have you tried OMD? Do you want to try OMD but not certain how to start? We want to hear from you.
Until next time, be well.
You can also follow us on social media. We enjoy hearing from you.
